** IANTD, PADI, DSAT & TDI Technical Courses ** NEW technical diving - P J Scuba Diving now offers IANTD, PADI, DSAT, SDI and TDI technical divers courses. Mainly in Pattaya but training can take place in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Chang, Koh Tao, Koh Lak, Thailand. These Tekkie programs offer the highest in technical dive tuition here in Thailand. Whether you wish to dive longer or deeper, penetrate shipwrecks or inspect ship wrecks here of interest we have the diving programs to assist you. Pleasure Diving P J Scuba is now offering the TDI Advanced Trimix (Tri-mix) Diver rating. You can qualify to visit exciting underwater walls and ledges where no diver has gone before! Advanced Trimix will involve four dives in the 60 meter to 90 meter depth range using hypoxic Trimix with O2 Decompression. The course is 5-7 days in total, and you must be a Basic or Normoxic Trimix Diver or equivalent rating to join. P J Scuba is a Rebreather (re-breather) friendly dive center. Bring your Draeger Dolphin or Buddy Inspiration Re-breather to us and we will supply you with soda lime, cylinders, and all the gasses you need to dive. We also conduct safe and well planned Technical Diver trips to 90m/300ft with 'technical divemaster' supervision, and 'technical dive buddy'. Courses: Please check out our Internship website for the latest in ASSET (Association of Scuba Service Engineers and Technicians), Technical and Professional dive internships First you need to decide that you
would like to extend your diving limits. Maybe you want to do longer dives. The
PADI Basic Nitrox course shows you how to do this. We simply add a bit more
oxygen to the air you are breathing, and by the process of elimination reduce
the nitrogen. Therefore you absorb less nitrogen while you are diving. By using
a set of adjusted dive tables we can now dive longer. Maybe you’d like to
spend an hour on the Asia Pottery Wreck at 23 meters (don’t steal the pots!)?
Can do! ** DSAT Semi Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver ** Do you want to get those U/W photos that nobody else has? The PADI Semi Closed Circuit Rebreather Course let’s you do this, and any Basic Nitrox Diver can join. The Rebreather simply re-cycles the oxygen you breath out right back to you, with a filter to eliminate the carbon dioxide. You can dive the Draeger Dolphin Rebreather for 2 hours with a tiny five liter tank - and almost no bubbles. The fish you are trying to photograph don’t even know that you are there! How about surprising a Goby or cleaner shrimp with a rare photo opportunity? Ever stop to think about the gases we breathe when we dive? In technical diving we use many different gases to optimize our bottom time and decompression obligation. The DSAT Gas Blender course teaches you to safely and accurately mix Nitrox mixtures for all levels of diving. You will be certified to blend these gases for use in diving operations. As a course option we can also introduces you to the blending techniques used for Trimix. Mix your own gases and do your technical diving with confidence! **
DSAT Apprentice Tec Diver ** Are you the engineering type (fiddles with everything that can possibly come apart and go back together)? Ever looked at those technical divers and wondered what all that gear is for? The PADI Apprentice Tec Diver program teaches you the basics of using double tanks, stage bottles, and other technical diving gear. Within a safe 40 meter depth limit you will practice and master all the techniques used by technical divers under the close supervision of P J Scuba's staff. Build the skills and confidence you need to take your diving to the next level! **
DSAT Deep Tec Diver ** Is there anything to see a bit
deeper? The PADI Deep Tec Diver, PADI's first course in Decompression Diving,
lets you use double tanks to carry more gas down to 50 meters. You can do
decompression dives using Nitrox and 100% Oxygen in 2 deco tanks, so that your
body is purged of excess Nitrogen very quickly. How about an exciting dive to 50
meters for 30 minutes in the Samae San Hole. Who wouldn't like to see an
untouched coral reef with up to 10 meters visibility and large schools of
Angelfish and Batfish? Is the legendary Samae San ammunition dump somewhere out
there? This course can be combined with the PADI DPV Diver course for some
amazing technical dives using the U/W scooters and double tanks - You can spend
your entire decompression obligation on the reef! Instructor Training is available for qualified Instructors at all levels! ** IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver ** To get even more bottom time you
can take the IANTD Advanced Nitrox course. In this course we teach you how to
use a tank with 2 valve openings and 2 regulators (H Valve) for greater safety
in the 30-40 meter depth range. If you blow an O-ring - No Problem! We also show
you how to safely perform decompression dives. By using a gas mixture of 50%
oxygen and 50% nitrogen you can do short, safe decompression stops. The nitrogen
in your body from the dive will quickly be eliminated through your lungs. How
about a 30 meter dive for 60 minutes searching for lost dive gear off the
Hardeep? ** IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver ** Does exploring the superstructure
of the Vertical Wreck (or at least used to be vertical) appeal to you. The IANTD
Intermediate (Normoxic) Trimix Diver course allows you to travel the entire 60
meters of the wreck. We do this by replacing the nitrogen in your tanks with
helium. This new gas, Trimix, reduces nitrogen narcosis and enables
you to think clearly at deeper depths. You can be at 60 meters and only feel the
narcosis of a 30 meter air dive! All those unexplored vertical wreck rooms (and
the 2 Giant Grouper) at 55 meters are now safely within reach! IANTD Instructor Training is available for qualified Instructors to Advanced EANX Level! Boost your diving skills to another level. Solo Diving is great for photography and... very relaxing too! This course teaches you how to rig your equipment and conduct your diving operations safely without a dive buddy. The Solo Diver course is good introduction to underwater self-sufficiency in the world of technical diving. This course is the first of its kind, and fully accredited by SDI, and the . Be a dependable buddy, not a dependant diver! ** SDI Scuba Tank Visual Inspector ** All scuba tanks require an annual visual inspection. Who checks the tanks at your dive center?. Do they really know what they're doing particularly regarding new procedures to locate 'SLC tank neck cracks' following recent reports of a number of exploding aluminum scuba tanks under heavy use? Which aluminum tanks are susceptible? What are there alloy and test designations? The course includes the use of 'eddy-current' NDT (Non Destructive Testing) to locate tank neck cracks that such 'hot news' in scuba tank testing world wide today. Students will also witness hydrostatic tests at P J Scuba's new 700 bar/10,000 psi tank hydrostatic test facility. On completion of the course, students receive the SDI Visual Inspection Procedures certification. ** TDI Advanced Trimix Diver ** You can qualify to visit exciting underwater walls and ledges where no diver has gone before! Advanced Trimix will involve four dives in the 60 meter to 90 meter depth range using hypoxic Trimix with O2 Decompression. The course is 5-7 days in total, and you must be a Basic or Normoxic Trimix Diver or equivalent rating to join.
